I’ve decided to take that Big Step and indulge myself a bit. In plain English this means that from now I’m going to do at least some of the blogging in English. (Oh, you had figured that one out already? Damn. Smart people I’m dealing with here.)

The thing is that I don’t expect anyone to genuinely read this but I feel like I need to have a contingency plan, as the saying goes. So. Should the day arrive that someone desperately wants to read about my trivial life and should the same sad individual not master the fine language that is Finnish, s/he can come here and… well, uhm, read about me planning to write something worth reading.

But at least it’s a start, innit?

Onto the practical matters: should you want to come back here again, the url to use is http://iki.fi/dst/blog/chores/. You might want to browse other parts of the blog as well, however they should have little value as they are, indeed, exclusively in Finnish – and blosxom doesn’t really support alternate languages (at least not yet). Don’t be fooled by the category that bears the legend ’English’. I rather suspect it isn’t of much interest to anyone who is a native English speaker (but then again, you people – and I’m deliberately excluding myself here [well I’m not a native speaker, am I?] – have a devastating track record when it comes to spelling).

One thing that might be of interest is the daily picture blog, though. And possibly, at times, also the Internet section (should you fancy clicking on links without having the faintest idea of what they’re about) and perhaps even the media notes, for it includes English quotes from time to time. Of course you wouldn’t be able to read my original, witty commentary, but then again, it’s not that witty (and often not even original).

One more thing you should know is where to find the archives (i.e. more Finnish blabbering).

So there. Are we settled yet?
