Here’s the deal: As I approach Finland, the incentive for keeping an English blog is diminishing by the minute. However because I just distributed the blog URL to my friends before I scurried off, I reckon I ought to strike some sort of balance. What I’m planning on doing is to write the more diary-like entries in English and use Finnish for the rest. Should you have a better idea, lemme know.

A unnamed reader wrote in to express his frustration (Mutta sen tiedän, että minua vituttaa were his exact words) about the fact that copying text from my blog is nearly impossible.

The only consolation I can offer is that this is due to Internet Explorer’s excellent behaviour, and that other browers (such as anything based on Gecko) don’t have the bug.

So I suggested that he change browsers. The answer? Aah. Enpä kyllä uskalla selainta vaihtaa. Mitä jos porno lakkaa näkymästä?

Rebecca Blood has written about blogging ethics. Most of her notions are quite straightforward and largely derived (or similar) to generic journalistic ethics. Both are good, nay, required reading for any and all bloggers.

I’d like to everyone reading my blog to call in. I’ve been doing this for six months now and would like to know if I’ve managed to lure anyone new. Please use the feedback link to tell me your name, how you got wind of this thing, how often you read it and what you like/dislike. No need to share your email address or anything silly like that in case you’re afraid of spammers which is a perfectly legitimate fear these dark days. Or if you don’t want to share your views with others for whatever reason, please mail me with the same information.

I’d really appreciate this one moment of co-operation cos I really want to make this blog a friendlier place and write about stuff people want to hear. I promise I won’t use the data to blackmail anyone into anything (because, as Bender said in Futurama, I prefer coercion). And yes, this does include both my IRC regulars and so-called real life friends (note that the stress falls on the first two words, not the last one) cos I really really need some gratification now.

For some weird reason I’ve been blogging the whole day. This is my 20th entry within 24 hours (and I’m writing one more and finishing another right now). Weird.

Wow, blosxom just keeps getting better and better. Thanks to a timezone plugin, the timestamps are no longer skewed! Woohaa.

The chronically nerdy might enjoy knowing that now I’m using the (modified) absolute, allconsuming, autocorrect, better_title, calendar, date_translate, directorybrowse, entries_index, flavourdir, foreshortened (for RSS feeds), interpolate_conditional, logger, (modified) menu, readme, referer, timezone, and writeback plugins.

All this talk of statistics made me check how much stuff there is in the blog. The count has come in at 417 entries consisting of 42909 words, or 320819 characters. This is more than double the last time I checked, which was in the middle of March. It means that the blog is growing at an exponential pace, and will soon take over the whole of WWW. Enjoy.
